Tooties Classy Jazz Affair Celebrates 5 Years of Uncharted Success in Compton, California

Five years ago visionary and dedicated entrepreneur Tootie (Inez Adkins) launched a special vision and is still enjoying sharing it with others to date. On September 3, 2017, “Tooties 5th Annual Classy Jazz Affair” will be held in Compton California. However, this event will share some of the greatest music ever heard with guests from across the nation and beyond.
Add to that a variety of sumptuous food, cold beverages: “Cocktails and Mocktails too,” roll on the floor comedy and the opportunity to share and network with some of the best people ever.
“Tooties 5th Annual Classy Jazz Affair” is not just another pretty face in the entertainment industry; it’s a party event with a purpose. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Urban Lady Foundation (ULF). A non profit 501 © 3 organization which helps to change the face of society for the better, one young woman at a time. ULF provides a myriad of useful opportunities such as mentorship and encouragement to young ladies from underprivileged communities.
The ULF recently launched another vision of the organization by helping to guide professional women from all walks of life to a better plateau. By meeting and assisting their specific needs the assistance will allow them to move forward. Or in to get back in sync, on their feet in general and to excel at what is needed, on a case by case venture. .
“The ULF currently receives the majority of its funds from private donors and fundraising events. The demand and need for our programs and services continues to grow at a rate that outpaces our current Financial Resources. Therefore, The Urban Lady Foundation is seeking to diversify its funding base to include support from public private and corporate sources.
One of our most important fundraising events is This event provides an excellent opportunity for us to fundraise to expand our current programs, while also providing a wonderful cultural event, right here in the beautiful city of Compton. TSU Women's Center Celebrates 10th Annual Luncheon with Vivica A. Fox and Angela Winbush

March 21, 2017 at 7:00 pm, Rhythm and Blues Artist Angela Winbush and Vivica A. Fox will share center stage at the 10th Annual TSU Women of Legend and Merit Awards. 


The award winning, super talented Vivica A. Fox is known for her many television and movie roles, she is a highly sought after actress, producer and entrepreneur who resides in Los Angeles, California. Vivica has been in the business long enough to achieve a successful multi-faceted career. Hollywood screen gem, Fox,  has triumphantly built an international brand that stands on the strength that women can do anything. With an extensive body of work that encompasses unforgettable television, stage and film credits, Vivica A. Fox is an inspiration as a Hollywood actress, generous philanthropist and accomplished businesswoman.

More of the same can be said for  the mega talented Artist, Angela Lisa Winbush.  She  was born January 18, 1955 in St. Louis, MO. 
She got her start at an early age singing at Temple Church of Christ, the church founded by her grandparents Bishop Austin and Sister Selena Layne.  With a passion for design and architecture Àngela enrolled at Howard University in Washington, DC as an architecture student. It was while at Howard she began singing for money to help support her college education. 

 Her singing roots were still deeply and firmly planted in the church she began singing with Richard Smallwood at Union Temple Baptist Church. She also began performing with friends in a group called "Hot Tea". This gave her exposure to the music industry as she and her friends began traveling around the country and opening for major performers.

In 1979 while on a gig singing with Stevie Wonder Àngela met Rene' Moore. Both eager to land a record deal the two decided to team up as a duo and formed René & Angela. After a string of popular hits "I Love You More" and "My First Love". After signing with Mercury Records in 1984 they had string of hits from their album "A Street Called Desire", some of which were "Save Your Love", "I'll Be Good" and "Your Smile".  Àngela also proved herself as a solo songwriter and producer working successfully with many artist in the industry including The Isley Brothers, Stephanie Mills, Lalah Hathaway and Sheena Easton. Àngela has sold over ten million albums and singles worldwide. She is a Stage III Ovarian Cancer Survivor and an Ordained Minister. <www.angelawinbush.com>

TALENT CALL: CHART-TOPPING SINGER STEPHEN B. STEWARD TO AWARD $1,000 SCHOLARSHIPS IN ANNUAL YOUTH TALENT COMPETITION

Once agian the Hardy Institute Brings forth interesting and substance filled news from  the Gospel Music Industry and Ministry home front. This time it's from Los Angeles , California.
Award-winning worship artist Stephen B. Steward, in partnership with LOV Olive Branches, CDC – a nonprofit organization serving at-risk youth, announces the talent call for the highly anticipated annual “SBS Youth Talent Competition.”
All Proceeds to Benefit LOV Olive Branches, CDC in Its Service to Local At-Risk Youth. 
They are accepting submissions from solo and group acts since March 11, applicants aged 5 to 17 are encouraged to visit http://www.stephenbsteward.com/2015-talent-competition to upload videos demonstrating their talents in singing, dancing, acting, playing instruments, and spoken word. After talent submissions end on May 11, finalists in each school category (Elementary, Middle, and High School) will be selected and announced to perform at the annual SBS Youth Music Festival this year held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on July 11. At the festival, Los AngelesCouncilmember Curren Price Jr. (9th district) will offer opening remarks and will arrange for bus transportation for participating students that need it. 
The judging  is based on criteria that will include originality, stage presence, performance quality, musicianship and overall likeability, the Grand Prize winners of each school category of the competition will receive a $1000 scholarship.
